An exciting opportunity awaits...

I had just talked to my daughter about it yesterday. I told her that there was a place in our city where I am I told that you can find hundreds of homeless in one area. I told her I wanted to one day take clothes and blankets. Or do something of the sort.

That was yesterday afternoon.
I left after that for the prison. When I got back last night I got on Facebook... and one of the very first posts on my feed gave opportunity to do just what I'd been wanting!

I have left a message on the girl's page. But from what I gathered that was already posted there they will be making another visit on December 5th. And they had pictures posted from their visit on the 14th of November. From the looks of things, you pack your vehicle with all that you can and open it up to whatever they need. Here are some of their pictures from their last adventure:

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’"
Matt 25:34-36

  2. This is a great opportunity! I'm going to see what is going on where I live. I have already heard of bikers taking toys to underprivileged kids and I'm encouraging my daughter to put aside some good toys for that initiative.

  3. Thanks for the comments, sweet girls. You know... there's so much to do all around us... but too often we're too blinded to see it. Not that we mean to be, we just simply and plainly really don't see... or feel we don't know what to do and it's too overwhelming. I want to be different! I not only want to be able to see more, I really do want to be more of a DO-ER!!! It's not about me! Lord, help me to SEE those around us... tender my heart with YOUR compassion, and give me insight and vision, enlighten my mind to know how to help them!
